Family pictures

We finally did it.  We finally got our very first family picture.  Only took 2 1/2 years after the lil man was born but I love it and am looking forward to doing one every year (fingers crossed). 

Easter Sunday

So Easter Sunday this year was a little out of the ordinary.  I was shooting family photos again at church Saturday evening and Sunday morning and instead of getting everyone ready for church they all stayed home sick with Pink eye.  I am soooo glad that I did not ever end up with it.  Was a pretty lazy day for all the kiddos hanging out with dad and doing their Easter egg hunt in their shorts and swimsuits.

 The park a block away from our house was the location of the city's Easter egg hunt.  How convenient.  We showed up and they had coloring contests, a bunch of games, hula hoops and a huge Easter egg hunt.

 It was packed with people but the kiddos had a great time coloring their Easter bunny ears.

Their picture with the Easter bunny.  Easter bunny looked like the economy hit him hard the past couple of years.  The girls were a bit disappointed that they could see the person who was probably about 3 inches too tall for the costume on her ankles, wrists, and neck.  It was kind of funny actually. 

Darian's 7th birthday... can you believe it?

 We started the day off with Strawberry pancakes & whip cream of course. Then went and picked out her cake.  It was a very cool cake! 

 We picked daddy up from work and came home and little by little her friends started showing up.  She had no idea that I had invited them over so shrieks piercing the ears came as soon as she saw her friends coming up the walkway.  She was so surprised and SO excited.  It was the most low key birthday I have EVER done but was actually the most fun and stress free of them.  Didn't do any decorations or any crazy amounts of food, just enjoyed the day with her.

 Last Christmas we got her a bike (from Craigslist) so she could learn to ride it and we didn't care if she thrashed it by crashing over and over.  So for her birthday we got her a brand new bike.

Slippin n' Slidin

 Loving our new backyard that actually has grass so we can go play without having to take a bath to get all the dirt off.  The kiddos are really looking forward to the summer heat so they can constantly play in the water.  Swimsuits came out Feb. 26th this year.

Our excursion

 We went out exploring the other day to find a great spot to take a family portrait (we have yet to have one with the 5 of us).  My friend was telling me about this property that her daughter works at and I drove up and fell in love.  It has green rolling hills as far as you can see with large boulders coming out of the ground in sparatic areas.  My absolute favorite part were the huge Oak trees just randomly growing across the fields with riverbeds (empty) running through the area.  It was just breathtaking.  The girls were in school and Darius was asleep when I drove through the first time so I was able to just drive slowly and stop at leisure and gaze upon my surreal surroundings.  I picked the kiddos up from school and went back at sunset to get an idea of what it looked like and just played around with some pics.  The top is my absolute favorite.  I absolutely adore the relationship that Devyn and Darius have.

This is my absolute most favorite tree! :)  Now if we can just get everyone healthy we can go up and take a family picture with this as the background. :) 

The little man

 So since Darius slept the whole time I was taking the girls pictures, I asked him last night if I could take some pictures of him today.  He kept saying the whole time I was putting him to bed 'Pictures Cheese'.  Love my little guy! :)
