We went to the coast this week and had a Wonderful time with the girls. We got to the hotel and Darian and I went to downtown Monterey to explore. We drove past the ocean and when she saw it squealed out "Mommy I found the ocean... I have to tell daddy". Too cute! We went back to the room and went swimming at the hotel (Casa Munros- apparently where my dad stayed when he was a little boy on vacation with his parents-small world), watched Finding Nemo to prepare for the big day tomorrow. We took them to the Monterey Bay aquarium and saw so many amazing things. Darian has kind of been stuck on Sharks (I think she likes Bruce from Nemo) because all day she kept saying she wanted to see sharks. It has been so much fun to watch the girls experience so many new and wonderful things.
The big tank had sooo many different kinds of fish in it. Here was a school of ... (couldn't tell ya... my school days of not paying attention kicked in as the volunteer at the aquarium started explaining stuff - oops)
The girls stood here forever just watching all the fish swim by right in front of them.
Darian found her shark. He just swam past her over and over and over. Devyn didn't seem as thrilled that he was that close.
They got to color pictures of the dolpins, otters, sharks and a bunch of other sea creatures.
And here they are seeing the ocean for the first time up close. It was such a beautiful day and the weather was AMAZING.
Can't really see it too clearly but we got to watch the penquins feeding.
They both loved the 'splash pond' where they could touch all the sea creatures like stingrays, shells, and starfish.
The jellyfish displays were absolutely georgous.

It looks like you all had a great time! We are headed to Monterey in three weeks. We can't wait to cool off!
