Springtime

Darian started t-ball today. It was her first game and again she is way more interested in the social aspect of it rather than playing. She did bat 2x's and then fielded quite a few until she met one of her teammates older sister on the sideline. She bats pretty well - daddy has her hitting lefty- and she loves running the bases over and over again. She did pretty well fielding some grounders for the first part of the game. She has been under the weather the past 3 days with a temp, headache, and cold so I'm hopefully going to chalk this game up to being sick.

Last week she also had her 4 yr. old checkup and they did the hearing tests, eye tests and a couple of shots. She passed them all great and was so brave that she didn't even cry on her shots. I was proud of her for being so brave. She is one tough little cookie. She is very tall for her age already wearing 5T clothes at 42" and 39lbs.

Devyn on the other hand was WAY more into the tball scene and getting out there with her glove catching some grounders as well. She is far beyond the intimidation point of playing with bigger kids and was very upset that she didn't get to hit off the tee. Good thing we have practices and a tee at home. She is quite the athlete already diving on the ground to stop the ground balls. She also loves the mud... i mean LOVES the mud. It was a nice day out yesterday and after a quick trip to home depot we got some hanging planters and flowers to plant in our newly fixed up backyard (our landlords were here for almost 2 week fixing everything up for us) we decided that it would be a fun project to plant the flowers. Devyn did very little planting and lots of digging up all the mud from this pasts weeks storm. Head to toe she was covered in it but very entertained. She collapsed from exhuastion on the floor about 4 minutes after dinner from all her hard playing.

very cute! Bring the gloves and tee when you come up so we can play at the park.
