It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...part 2

Today was another fun filled busy day. We heard that Santa was going to be at Toys R Us as well as Geoffrey the Giraffe and I wanted to try and get a picture of all 3 kids with him. After we got there we realized it was a pretty lame setup so we left DJ in his carseat, Devyn was too shy to go anywhere near him so Darian ended up taking the picture by herself with him. :) She didn't mind. They also gave them a Gingerbread man that they could decorate with their individual bag of frosting and candy. Very cute little idea which we waited till we got home to finish. I have been wanting to make gingerbread houses with the girls but the task is a little daunting to me so this was a good start / practice for them and me. Maybe next week we'll get to it. I'm sure half the bag of frosting accidentally ended up on their fingers or in their mouth before getting to the cookie.

We also went to the Clovis Electrical Parade. Before we had children we never were very up to date on fun little activities that the city does for kids/ families. But we saw this year that they were doing a lighted parade. Tonight was the first night that I completely understood the whole idea of being outnumbered with 3 kids. I didn't want to try to maneuver the stroller so I put DJ in the carrying pouch on my stomach and Devyn and Darian each held one of our hands. When we got there it was packed and the girls couldn't see so Derron put Devyn on his shoulders... as you can imagine Darian wanted to be up there as well... so with a stroke of brilliance I told Derron to put Devyn on my shoulders and Darian on his. The girls loved it but my neck, back, shoulders, every muscle in my upper region was on FIRE!!! As well as my lower back throbbing from hanging him on the front. But... they LOVED it and yelled 'Merry Christmas' at every passing parade person and vehicle. I didn't get a picture of it since it would have been so much work getting the camera out of the bag but I'm sure your visual is pretty accurate. After the parade as we were driving home we drove through the neighborhood next to ours that almost EVERY house totally goes on out on decorating lights. It is always jam packed with cars slowly making their way past each house. We do it every year and the girls love looking at all the lights as do Derron & I. When we drove up to our house our next door neighbor had put their lights on their house and the girls asked 'daddy why don't we have light all over our house?' He told me that if I put them up we could do it so I'll be making a trip to the store to get Christmas lights for the house this year. :) The is one house that is scarce in comparison to a lot of the other houses decorated.
