March 17th, 2006 was our last day as a couple and we and so blessed for every day since then for the first addition to our family. March 17th, 2011 I tried to not get all sentimental looking back on how quickly 5 years has gone and how big my baby has become and as Darian was excited in anticipation for the next day I told her all about how she came into this world. She loved hearing how she was born and to not leave Devyn out I told her all about her day as well. For some reason they both love hearing about it. :)
Darian woke up and we had our traditional strawberry and whip cream pancakes and she got her unicorn pillow pet which she has been asking for since before Christmas.
We went to dinner with Derron's family for her birthday along with Gigi (great grandma) and boy was she spoiled. She told all 4 hostesses that it was her birthday and just chatted away with them for the 20 minute wait, then when we got seated she told our server and he couldn't have been any nicer to her. Anything she asked for he brought. Cup of cherries, clam chowder, even 2 pieces of pie so Devyn could celebrate too... so nice to feel so special by everyone on her special day.
Saturday was her birthday party. I stayed up till 4am cleaning and decorating as much as possible but for some reason even though it was all planned out still forgot stuff so quick trip to the store and getting everything finished was down to the wire. Thanks mom for chopping the fruit and veggies :) We were going with the Tinkerbell theme (I know big surprise) and was trying to do the whole pixie hollow (that thought was put to rest as well as myself at 4am) but we had dirt cake for each kiddo at the party complete with gummy worms.
The aftermath of her presents. She is a pretty lucky kid to have so many family and friends around and so thankful for all her very cool gifts. They came in very handy today since we were without power for 11 HOURS!!!
