Kindergarten

Well we did it! I have been waiting until enrollment opened up for the online virtual academy to get Darian enrolled through www.k12.com. Today was the first day so after filling out all the paperwork I called her in to have her sign her name. She has been telling everyone these past 2 months that her birthday is March 18th and everyone responds with 'so you are going to be 5, that means you are going to go into Kindergarten? What school are you going to?' She looked at me for direction the first few times and now she gives an ascertive 'online academy'. We are both very excited to start her on this program and I have heard nothing but amazing things from people I know as well as complete strangers that Darian tells in the store who have also done it. Well after I finished filling it out she came in to see what it was and I read her the agreement (summarized) and had her sign her name. She was SO VERY PROUD to be signing and when she finished I said 'You are all ready to go to Kindergarten!' She threw her arms around my neck and gave me the biggest bear hug just squealing. I couldn't help but be excited for her. My little baby is growing up just too quickly! We have been doing practice classes for the past few months just doing little things for the girls like cooking class, art class, & Bible class and they both LOVE it.

Devyn came in wondering what was going on and wanted to start Kindergarten as well. I printed out another form for her to sign, which she did, so she would agree to the same as Darian. My plan all along has been that Darian would follow the curriculum they supply and I will find preschool lesson online for Devyn to practice what we are doing so they can both be working on similar subjects for school. :) Darias will be on a consistent nap schedule and will start learning sign language with Baby Einstein! :) That's the plan for now - I know reality is usually completely different but I'm living in my bubble for a little while.
